“Quality control and meeting the requirement of our customers is a priority”.
Lovely Sanitations is a dealer in tiles, sanitary ware and bathroom fittings. The Inside Track spoke to Mr. Vishal Agarwal, Director of Lovely Sanitations, Jalandhar, who gave us valuable insights into the demand for popular bathroom and sanitary ware brands and emerging trends that will dominate the segment in the future.
What was the genesis of your enterprise and your core strengths?
We are dealers of tiles, sanitary ware and bathroom fittings and kitchen ware. We also specialize in granite and marble. We started our business in 2000. Our 25000 sq ft showroom in Jalandhar operates for the entire North Indian region. We deal in bathroom and sanitary ware from Jaquar, Artize, Kohler, Viega, Vitra and Hansgrohe, and kitchen ware from Indoline.
We have independent galleries of bathroom and sanitary ware as well kitchen products on display. We also specialize in exclusive wellness bathroom ware from Oyster particularly Jaccuzzi, steam shower cabins and sauna heaters and steam generators.
There are many international sanitary ware companies that have entered the market. How are they performing? How are they competing with Indian brands?
Indeed there are many international sanitary ware companies who have entered the market and they are all performing impressingly well. Amongst them are Kohler, Grohe, VitrA and Hansgrohe which are all MNCs. Nevertheless, Indian brands like Hindware, Jaquar and Cera are also performing very well. These days the Indian brands are also able to satisfy the demands of the customers.
Today there is a concept of ‘complete bathroom solutions’ offered by brands. Are consumers opting for these concept bathrooms or are they still mixing and matching?
Each brand has its own USP. Considering this, a brand that specializes in faucets does not excel in wellness or sanitary ware products. At times, customers are certain about what they are looking for and then we provide them their requirements. However, at other times, the customer may ask us to suggest and then we offer them the best of products from the brand that specializes in the particular product. Quality control and meeting the requirement of our customers is a priority for Lovely Sanitations.
Which companies are providing high quality water saving bath fittings today? Is there a great demand for such products?
Water conserving bath fittings are not much in demand as there is less awareness regarding the same. Hansgrohe is one such brand that offers such bath fittings.
There has been an increase in the premium segment in the sanitary ware industry.
Which according to you is the leader in this segment and which are some their best-selling products?
Indeed there has been a significant increase in the premium segment. Toto is the world leader in premium sanitary ware and their best product is the electronic seat cover. Duravit, Kohler and VitrA are also performing very well. Amongst the Indian companies, Hindware is a leader as a domestic economic brand.
How do you rate the demand of bathroom furniture? Are consumers opting for this?
Bathroom furniture is greatly dependent on the display factor, customers go for them if a showroom has an adequate display of bathroom cabinets and mirrors. Our customers indeed look for bathroom furniture.
What do you think could be the trends in this segment in the coming year? Do you see any new ideas product-wise?
I can visualize a trend that I recently came across in ISH, Frankfurt. It is the waste sensor toilet seats which have sensor that can use the water quantity in accordance to the waste.
